Accesorize 70% sale: Vintage Postcard Coin purse

I have this thing for purses (Or Wallets as Americans call it). I cannot have a purse for a long period of time, as I like to change things about. I feel like a purse it such a statement that you simply cannot have too many, therefore I have a huge collection that seems to be ever piling up- however I still do use them on a regular basis. I purchased this poscard coin purse from Accessorize a couple of days ago as I was getting bored of the Lacoste purse that I've been sporting for the last year (a record!) and I simply love the whole look of particular style.

I am a sucker for cute purses and bags! I always look for something that would catch my eye! Nonetheless the exterior is a postcard look which matches my me perfectly.It has some pretty buttons and embroidery.I also love the little pink bow with gold heart and the airmail sign  It is also has a very soft cotton feel to it which I love.Also, it adds more of a 'girly' touch (not that any more is needed, thanks to the flowers!).

As you open up  the purse, you have just the right space you need for your money to comfortably sit without it looking inflated. You then have only one section where you can put your money, notes, cheques, receipts or whatever you desire!This will be great for school or pocket money. I find I can put a lot of things in a really compact design. I've seen these float about from place to place, but I think these are going to become a huge hit in the months to come!

 

Vintage signs

I'm have been spending the day doing all things blog related so while working on another post i came across these incredible vintage retro inspired signs to hang in your room or kitchen and I knew I had to do a post on these straight away, the seller has so much more to choose from but I had to limit myself to a good selection. I love them all so much and I wish I could have them all hanging in my kitchen!

How to : DIY Pretty Vintage Wooden Clothes Hangers ♥

     When I take photos of my new fashion buys for my blog, I usually hang them on a boring naff plastic hanger and then on nail on my wall. Not only does it look a bit tacky but it doesn't do my new item much justice either, hanging from something so ugly. So I had been hunting for a while for some pretty hangers to use instead. I saw lots of those silky hangers, but these were too narrow and also too straight. I couldn't find what I wanted, so I set about making my own!
      I wanted them to be pale, pretty and girly. So I did a complete overhaul on these wooden bargain hangers, which not only look pretty good I think, but they were really cheap and easy to make too!

So here's my tutorial:
 

 

Get some wooden hangers (I'm everyone has at least one wooden hanger at home). Mine was without the bottom pole (used for hanging trousers) as I only use my hangers for dresses.


 

 

Lightly sand down the wood to remove the glossy stain.( I got my sandpaper from Poundland)

 

Paint your hangers using normal cheap white wall paint. 

Leave them to dry, and then paint on another coat.
 

 

Using some patterned paper, cut out whatever design or pattern you would like on your hanger. I used a pair of small nail scissors to get a really close neat trim. This is just a gift bag I got from Poundland ages ago. But you can use any kind of paper.

 

 

Then use PVA glue to stick the paper onto your dry painted hangers. Press them on well so they don't peel off.

 

 

And this is what you should end up with! A really simple and easy way to get custom hangers exactly how you want them, and I got 1 for only £1!

Lemon Drizzile Cake ♥

     Hi lovelies! As I love baking so much, I had a lovely Christmas present from my mum which was a "Traditional Family Cakes" book with step-by-step guide of how to bake those classic favourites. All together this book has 40 cakes which I'm going to try and bake.
     So today I made my first ever Lemon Drizzle cake! I was a bit scared of the word "lemon" but I do want to try out new things!"This cake has a tangy lemon sugar syrup drizzled over it while still warm which permeates through the sponge to give it a wonderful moistness and extra lemony flavour" and I perfectly agree! This cake is good for new bakers like me although in future I want to open my own cake business!

Ingredients:

• 200g caster sugar
• 200g plain flour
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 3 eggs
• 150g soured cream
• 1 large lemon, zest and juice
• 150 ml sunflower oil
• zest from the lemon in the icing


• For the icing:
• 4 tbsp icing sugar
• 1 large organic lemon, juice only

Method:

1. Preheat the oven to 180C/gas mark 5.
2. Sift the flour and baking powder together. Add sugar.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, soured cream, lemon zest, lemon juice and oil. 
4. Pour the egg mixture into dry ingredients and mix well.
5. Pour into a greased and floured 18cm cake tin and bake for 40-45 minutes until well risen and golden brown.
6. While the cake is baking you can make the icing – stir the lemon juice into the icing sugar so it coats the back of the spoon. You might need a bit of water to get the right consistency.
7. Just before the cake is done, warm the icing gently to about 40C. Remove the cake from the oven, and take it out of the tin. Prick the surface of the cake with a fork and pour over the warm icing. Give it half an hour or so to cool

{Top Tip}

For a crunchy lemon crust, make the

lemon syrup with granulated sugar

instead of icing sugar.

 

 

 

Home Treats

 I love decorating my home with lovely little bits and pieces to give it a bit of personality and unique touches. My little bedroom is full of different cute thing in shades of pink, lignt blues and ivory. This room is the best place for me to relax and think about my blog.
 I like desinging my bedroom and giving it my personal touches!So, today I went to my local shopping centre and bought three lovely items for my home.

 Firstly, I chose this lovely jewerly tree stand because I have been looking for something to plug my earings and hang all of my bracelets, rings and necklesses so I don't spend ages looking for them. It also suits my bedroom desing and adds an elegant touch. This was only £6!

 Secondly, I picked this cute wooden heart that I can hang in my room. It's nice and small size, but I still love it. Especially when it was only £1!!!!

Finally, my favourite product is this vintage cup with flowers! The colours perfectly match my pastel vintage kitchen and I will enjoy drink hot tea in some lovely winter evening. And it was reduced from £7 to £1!!!! Great bargain!
